A Little About Yu-Gi-Oh!

Yu-Gi-Oh! is a trading card (TCG) based consisting of three types of cards; Monster, Spell (formerly known as Magic) , and Trap cards. The main objective of the game is to use your monsters by backing them up with Spell and trap cards in order to defeat your opponent. Each player gets 2000 life points (now 4000).

The story line and all content is accredited to Kazuki Takahashi and 4Kids.

For those who are not familiar with the story; let me give you all an insight into it. The main character is a boy known as Yugi Muto, who is the grandson of a game shop owner as well as an archaeologist  Kwazi Muto. On one of his expeditions, Mr. Muto discovers an item and thinking it was worthless gives it to his grandson. This was actual a puzzle - Millenium Puzzle. Upon solving this, the grandson gains a dual identity, of that of a 5,000 year old unnamed Egyptian Pharoah. Yugi loves to play trading cards. Afterwards they go on adventures that keeps on revealing the secrets to the pharoah's identity. The main opponent of Yugi Muto is Seto Kaiba who has an ego issue but cannot defeat his Yugi Muto in a duel. Yugi Muto/Pharoah is identified with his favorite type of monster, Dark Magician (There are several variations to it); whereas Seto Kaiba is identified with his favorite monster the Blue Eyes White Dragon (In later seasons also the XYZ Dragon Cannon). There were five seasons to the original series. The three God Cards, Five Headed Dragon, Exodia were introduced all in this series.

Followed by the original series, three other series came out; Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds, and the most current - Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal.
After that, the new series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX came out, In this series, the main character was Jaden Yuki (identified with Elemental monsters such as Avian, Burstnatrix, and so on; in the later episodes, Neos) with his main opponent, Chazz Princeton. Three powerful cards were introduced in this series - The demon cards.
The third series in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Series was Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds. In this one the characters were mostly outcast were banned from having any kind of leisure whatsoever. The main characters were Yusei Fudo, and his opponent and good friend Jack Atlas. There are originally 5 main characters in this series, hence the name 5Ds (5 Dragons). The other three main characters are Akiza Izinski identified with Black Rose Dragon, Luna identified with the Ancient Fairy Dragon, and last but not least Crow Hogan who is identified with Blackwing Armor Master. (Initially, one of the 5Ds opponents, Mr. Goodwin wielded the dragon mark which was later transferred to Crow upon being evil). Here Yusei Fudo is identified with his favorite monster Stardust Dragon (In later episodes Majestic Stardust Dragon); whereas Jack Atlas is identified with his favorite monster Red Dragon Archfiend (In later episodes Majestic Red Dragon Archfiend). Another key monster in this series is the Crimson Dragon. The five main characters have parts of the Crimson Dragon imprinted on them (in the series known as "signers"). The five parts come together with one of the main characters allowing him/her to control the Crimson Dragon. The main cards that came out in these series were the Earthbound Immortal series.

I am not to sure about the current one Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal since it has just begun. However the main character is a goofball, Yuma. The main cards this series has come out with number cards.

There were two movies based upon Yu-Gi-Oh! These two movies also came out with special cards as well. In August 2004, "Yu-Gi-Oh! -The Movie: Pyramid of Light" was released in theaters in the U. S. A. and followed by DVD. The second movie, Yu-Gi-Oh! Bonds Beyond Time was released  in theaters in the U. S. A. in February 2011. For some odd reason, the DVD was never released in the U. S. A.

That's all for now Yu-Gi-Oh! fans! I would be posting details about cards later on. Keep reading and ... Do you dare to Duel...?
